Hulabaloo

Hulabaloo is a rebrand of the event known as the “Merrie Monarch Festival” which takes place in Hilo, Hawaii each year. The festival celebrates the fun-loving Hawaiian monarch, King Kalakaua, and his love of the hula dance. The goal of bringing new life and energy to the event was achieved by using a quirky, hand-drawn type treatment, a vivid color palette, and hand-drawn leaf and dancer elements.

This project earned a Silver ADDY Award from the AAF of Buffalo in 2020.
